Unit 3
Lesson 1
- Watch the following video and figure out the title of the unit: 2 words, 8 letters (AT SCHOOL)
- In a table: write down the differences between the two teachers:
Professor McGonagall | Professor Snape |
---|---|
How is the perfect teacher for you? Describe them.
- In pairs, search for words describing the perfect teacher in a dictionary. To use a dictionary, pay attention to the words in italics and/or in brackets. It will help you choose between different propositions. In your copybook make a list of all the different adjectives.
- Then have a look at the vocabulary worksheet below.
- In your house, dispatch the activities and try to finish them as quickly as possible. The number of right answers will count for your house!
Lesson 2
- Have a look at the document below and complete the document Classroom English and learn some vocabulary as well as some questions.
- What else do you need? Think hard of other words and/or sentences you might need in the classroom and try to find out how to say them.
- Now watch the following presentation and try to find out the correct vocabulary.
- Play a game of Simon Says
Lesson 3
Create your house charts:
- for each house, create at least 7 rules to which you should abide for the rest of the year
- Let's vote for 4 golden rules: pick one from each house and make it as a golden rule for the whole class
Lesson 4
The board game:
Throughout the year, you will have to create a board game around the Minimes. The idea is that you create the rules and some questions in English inspired by each unit and related to the Minimes.
With this unit, you have two jobs:
- 2 houses will create a set of questions about people in the school (and find the answers)
- 2 houses will create the rules of the game:
- how many players?
- How do you move across the set?
- how many questions should you answer to win?
- for each questions what do you get (a card, a pawn, an image...)
