Lesson 2

Group A:
Do the vocabulary exercice on p.12 and the Quizlet:
Group B:
Read the text on p.13 and sum it up (to help you you can answer the questions under the text):
Group C:
Look at the document. Link the quotes to the arguments and then try to find counterarguments to the 6 presented on p.13.
Group D:
Have a look at the document and present it to the class WITHOUT using the words in bold (in the different titles).
Group E:
Study the document and present it to the class imagining that most of them are afraid to go abroad.
Group G:
Watch the video and make a list of all the different arguments mentioned. Try to make a list of the important vocabulary (words that are repeated several times).
Once you have finished preparing your notes, choose a spokesperson who will follow the table below to know where to go and present your work to the other groups:

You will have 6 minutes per turn: 3 to present, 3 to listen.
- To organise all your notes in the mind map, start with defining 5 categories in class. Then, finish your map at home. (personality / skills / volunteering / professional experience / growing up)

Imagine being Malia Obama and being interviewed about your year-off. Construct your ideas around what you did, what you experienced and how you feel about it using elements from the document and different adjectives.
Then read your testimony to your neighbour and have him checked your pronunciation and ideas with the grid below:
Listening to your interview, your neighbour will have to create questions to keep the flow of an interview. To do so, have a look at the document and exercices below.
Record the interview: use elements from the video (how to introduce the topic) and then ask questions to Malia Obama.
