Lesson 1

Read the Unit Goals and think of a problematic for the unit. 

Watch the video below and take notes about places, people and dates. 

Answer the questions below and then create an ID card and a timeline about Shakespeare's life. 

Lesson 2

In groups of 4, pick a title:

  1. Romeo and Juliet
  2. Romeo and Juliet
  3. The Tempest
  4. Hamlet
  5. Richard III
  6. King Lear
  7. Twelfth Night
  8. Othello

Familiarise yourself with the plot, sum it up and present the documents you received (type, title, date, author) and explain how the play has evolved. 

=> Create a panel for the exhibition in the library Modern Shakespeare with 2 parts: one with the summary (plot, characters, setting) and a second explaining what has been modified (type of document, setting, plot, era ...).

Lesson 3

Go to the theatre and enjoy the version of Much Ado About Nothing.

Lesson 4

In groups of 5, you will receive different cards and a timeline. Using all the cards, rebuild the timeline. Then ask your teacher to check your answers and write the correction.

Lesson 5 - Final Task

You have received an extract from a scene from MacBeth, rewrite it using common language and changing the settings. Present it to the class.
