Topic 1
Lesson 1
Have a look at the 4 pictures below. Choose two and describe them. Then compare them to the other two.
Lesson 2
Now, have a look at what you filled up in the table and draw hypothesis on what the story could be about and who the main characters are (role, job, personality). To help you, look at the names of the characters and create an ID card using the template below.
Once you have a distinct idea of who they are, exchange your ideas with another group and try to explain the title.
Lesson 3
Watch the trailer of the TV show. Check your hypothesis.
What is the link with femicide?
- Define femicide. How is the word constructed? Is there another word?
- On the internet, look for headlines using that word (3 headlines per group). Without reading the articles, draw hypothesis on what occurred. Then, for each headline get information on the victim.
- Do you think there are different forms of femicide? Make a list of all the elements that make a crime, a femicide.
Lesson 4
Now, rewatch the trailer again and fill in the table with the different arguments:
Big Little Lies, a femicide. | Big Little Lies, not a femicide. |
