Unit 2
Lesson 1
- Stephen Fry, ch.6 The Ghoul in Pajamas, "I've also modified...a lot about you".
- What is the name of the unit?
- Brainstorming on the new unit with new vocab (animals, landmarks, people, sports,...)
- Each house will have 2 pictures on the table (1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8) and has to describe it very simply (where? what? when?) and then elect a spokesperson to present it to the class.
- Place the pictures on the map.
Lesson 2
- Choose words to describe Australia -> word cloud generator (Connexions vers un site externe.)
- In groups, you will receive a frame from a comic. You have two minutes to figure out the missing words and try to decide the place of this frame in the comic. After two minutes, you give your frame to the next group and you repeat the operation.
- In the end, you should have put the frames in order and filled in the blanks.
- Each frame will then be brought to the board with one person and you will try to organise them moving people around.
- Write a quick summary of what you have learnt.
About 50,000 years ago, Aboriginal people arrived and settled in Australia. From 1788 to 1868, Australia was used as a penal colony by the British government. A lot of criminals like pickpockets were transported there. A different prison: in Australia, convicts were not kept in prison. They were employed as brick makers, carpenters, servants or farmers. The chain gang: they were also given hard work like making roads. Freedom at last: convicts were often sentenced to seven years. They were sometimes freed after four years if they behaved well. Most convicts stayed in Australia and settled there. Today, it is estimated that about 22% of Australians have a convict ancestor.

- Each group will be given a word to research on the internet
Write a few lines about your word, its meaning, its history, its link with the country... why you think I've chosen this particular word - Write 4 questions with 4 possible answers and give them to the teacher.
Lesson 5
- Listen to your classmates presenting their word and take notes.
- Then play the Kahoot game.
Lesson 6
- Look at the document and describe it
- What is a legend of creation?
- Write down the elements to help you create your own legend of creation.
- Start writing your legend: "Before there was nothing. Now, the world is a classroom with 25 students and one teacher"
Lesson 7

- What is the goal of the document?
- Listen to the rest of the song.
- Comment the answer of the first question.
- Discuss the concept of irony.
- Fill in the blanks in the lyrics.
- Create an acrostics about AUSTRALIA in order to try and bring back the tourists.

- Make a list of the different activities, the famous places, what to do and see.
- Create a brochure.

- Prepare questions to ask potential clients who want to go to your city about their likes and dislikes, what they have done before or not

Lesson 9
- You're a client in a travel agency. You're walking around the classroom and looking at the brochures. Choose your destination.
- Talk to the agent and answer their questionnaire
- On your paper, write their propositions
- Grade them. Did they listen to what you wanted? Did they offer you the best choice?
