Unit 2

Lesson 1

  • Watch the video and figure out the title of the new unit _ _ _ _ _ _  _ _ _ _ _   _ _ _   _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (4 words 24 letters) SCHOOL CLUBS AND NETWORKING
  • In your house, from two groups and have a look at one of the document. Write a quick description of the document and make a list of all the necessary information. Then, analyse the poster: does it have all the information needed? How do you find it? Criticise it and offer solutions to make it better.
  • Then, present it to the rest of the class. The other groups need to figure out what the most important information are.
  • In your house, create a template for a poster.

Lesson 2

  • Watch the video below while taking notes.

Now listen to the audio and answer the questions:

Lesson 3

  • Each student will receive a piece of paper. Read the information on that piece of paper and memorise it (not every word, just the main idea). Give back your paper to the teacher, receive your post-it and go to the other students and ask them about their paper. Try to recreate the article that has been torn apart and divided through the classroom. You can use a pen and a paper. Just know that there are 8 parts to the article.
  • Then, in your house, bring all your ideas together and try to rebuild the article.

Lesson 4

  • Have a look at the pictures below.
  • In the same vein, make a list of all the different clubs you could have and start thinking of different words you could attach to your club.
  • Then, using the template you created in Lesson 1, create a poster for your club. Divide your house in 2 or 3 groups: one group will be in charge of the poster, another will be in charge of the word art and the last one will use both groups to create the official proposal (what arguments to convince people to come). Don't draw it in class yet. Just work on the draft.

Lesson 5 (Computer Room)

  • Finalise your poster, your word art and your proposal.

Lesson 6

  • Divide your house into two groups. Each group will receive a document. Read it, then present it quickly in from of your classmates. Respect the rules on how to introduce a document.
  • Present your document to the rest of the class. Together, choose some ideas you want to work on. Create groups, choose one page you want to create and start discussing it. Don't forget to vote for the Yearbook Masters who will be in charge of organising the whole Yearbook.

Lesson 7

  • Decide on an agenda and book the computer room.
  • Have a look at the document below:
  • As you can see, we are not the only students to use a house system in our classroom. To start your yearbook, try to familiarise yourselves with your house, creating a motto, an ID card and a mascot.
