Lesson 1
Have a look at the picture and answer the questions.
- Describe the picture and notice the differences as well as the facial expressions. Imagine what the title of the picture could be. A portrait of class?
- Show how the cartoonist uses clothing, appearances and the layout to illustrate class differences.
- Analyse the tone of the image and explain its message.

Work in pair. For each century, find the correct social class and its definition. Then, create a poster chart following the model below.
Get the posters made by your classmates for another century. Correct it using the correction given by your teacher and find the similarities and differences between the centuries.
