The Arthurian myth was created by a Welsh monk, Geoffrey of Monmouth in 1129. He wrote The History of the Kings of Britain in which he told an imaginary history of the Celts: he was a story-teller not a real historian.
The difference between history and a story:
- history is real and can be verified
- a story is not real and cannot be verified.
